Suede is the back of leather, sanded down to give it a soft and smooth texture. It is sourced from farms in the Rio Grande do Sul region and tanned in Brazil, without the use of any hazardous or prohibited chemicals. VEJA uses conventional dyes that comply with regulations, and pays special attention to water usage during the tanning process. This suede is then coated with water-repellent oils without PFCs to protect the shoes from light rain.
